Harm reduction is all about reducing any adverse health, social and economic consequences of the use of legal or illegal alcohol and other drugs without necessarily reducing drug consumption. Harm reduction benefits people who use alcohol or other drugs, their families and the community.

There are often new drugs emerging or drugs that have different strengths and effects. It's important to know as much as you can about what you are taking. Mixing GHB and alcohol continues to be a key cause of overdose. It's important to tell someone you trust what you've taken, and to get help immediately if it's needed.

The ACON Rovers are always at the major events during Mardi Gras to help people who are experiencing any difficulties as a result of using alcohol or other drugs.
